It’s a wrap!

Hey ya’ll! It’s been a while since my last post, thanks to a terrible eye infection but I’m all well and back.

Edit 4

Lately, I’ve been going through this weird phase where I’m gravitating towards simple and classic pieces that don’t require much effort to style. Hence, this post is dedicated to this faux wrap off white blouse from Last Inch‘s new collection that perfectly fit my requirements.

Flattering and feminine, wrap blouses like these look quite sophisticated and one can dress it up or down making them the ultimate 9 to 5 piece.

I paired this super versatile blouse with two skirts. Matching it with a black polka dotted skirt was a no brainer but I love how the breezy silhouette of the top looked with my fitted mini skirt.

In my second style, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone by making it a tonal outfit i.e. pairing this blouse with a nude ruched skirt. I’m also wearing this amazing pearl bodychain to take this ensemble a level up.

Edit 3

You know it’s a bit of a struggle to find fashion forward pieces for plus size women like us in India but I think no one does it better than Last Inch (honest opinion). I fell in love with their latest collection so do check it out soon.

Satin Glam

Lace and Satin, the two quintessential “lingerie” fabric were all the fad beginning of the year. Honestly speaking, I had an old-fashioned view on these fabrics and it took me a while to embrace them. I overcame the fear of Lace in one of my previous posts. So now in this post, I experiment with Satin! I’d say I was slightly more open to wearing Satin as it looks quite luxe.

A trench, kimono or a duster is completely my style. If you’re like me who takes hours doing make up without deciding on your outfit before a night out then you need to have a statement garment like this Satin Duster.

I scored this beauty from Stalkbuylove and I’m so in love with the fit and colour. This slinky piece looks quite plush on it’s own and add sparkle to any boring outfit. I wore mine over a plain black bodycon and took this outfit from lazy to polished with zero efforts.

That was sort of a fashion hack for lazy days! Hope you liked this post and I really recommend you guys to go buy a satin something ASAP.

Bloom baby, Bloom

Fashion’s love affair with floral prints is eternal. I’m sure you’ve noticed prints like plaid, gingham, aztec etc. come and go but floral is everlasting. So I guess it’s always a good idea to add a floral something something in your wardrobe every spring/summer. However, when it comes to summer dresses, I haven’t had much luck finding pieces which are not made of Polyester, especially when there is some amount of Spandex in the fabric composition.

So when I found this fabulous dress made of cotton-spandex, I knew I needed it ASAP. This dress from Last Inch-Made for Curves is IDEAL for summer dressing and the floral print looks so vibrant and elegant.

You can style this dress in so many ways- like with a jean vest and sneakers or with a pastel coloured blazer which will be completely office appropriate. Or if you’re like me and loooooove dusters, you’d throw on a light-weight duster for a glam look which I did here. I’m also wearing these beautiful pointed-toe red block heels for I love some drama on my feet and believe me these are the most comfortable pair of pointed-toe heels I own (I’ve giant duck feet).

This dress is currently on sale on the website linked below. I hope you get your hands on it soon.

Corset convert !

This is the first time I’ve jumped on a trend that I believed was not my style at all! I  have a minimalistic taste when I buy clothes. They’ll usually be solid colors and geometric prints paired with clean accessories to complete a look. But in the last few months, I have somehow managed to lose a good few inches on my upper body and I’m probably 2 sizes smaller on my waist compared to my lower body. Now, this led me to buy belts every month and that’s how I ended up picking this corset belt just to try.

I was hesitant at first due to their slight tacky appeal, moreover, a tight elastic on your stomach calls for major unpleasantness! However, to my surprise, this belt was super comfortable as I wore this exact look on a night out for drinks. I have seen corsets on Shirt and T-shirt dresses mostly so I wore mine a little differently.

This orange off shoulder bodycon dress looked too plain on its own so the corset belt totally spiced up the outfit. I also paired it with lace up wedges and a choker necklace as bracelet.

I hope you liked this post! Do get yourself a corset belt and you’d discover your itty bitty waist !

Keepin’ cool in Chambray featuring Last Inch

Gone are those days when plus size clothing looked like a sack with no regards to fashion whatsoever! Here’s a fun fact, when I was a teenager and getting bigger (thanks puberty) I couldn’t wear jeans for a good 4-5 years in a small town I was living in. All the shopkeepers in stores would send my mom away saying the last size of jeans they sell is a size 28! This was an era of no online sites to shop from and let’s just say I was quite an unfashionable kid back then 😦

But those dark days are behind me and I’m so thrilled that plus size fashion brands are booming in India. It is such an exciting time to be in this community that I was given an opportunity to partner with an awesome brand called Last Inch- Made for Curves. What particularly excites me about this brand is their on trend styles and absolutely fantastic fit!

Since it’s still summer in my side of the country, I chose this cold shoulder button up chambray shirt from Last Inch’s website. Such a summer staple that I couldn’t help myself style it 3 ways so let’s begin..

Look 1 – Classic Denim on Denim

Look 2 – Fun and Flirty

Look 3 – Edgy and Chic

I hope you enjoyed this post and will come back for more.

Stripe it right!

Move over regular horizontal stripes and snatch this beauty as fast as you can! Believe me, you need this dress! No, I don’t say that because I’m a big girl and the “rule” says wear vertical stripes for a slimming effect. I fell in love with this dress because I couldn’t stop thinking about how I can style it in a multitude of ways. I’ve a feeling that I’m going to make this piece vintage with rips and holes until I die. That’s a little too dramatic, but the love is real you guys!

So here I’m, presenting you 3 style options with this master piece which will forever be trendy. I could give you 10 options but it is so hot that, I’ve kept it summer appropriate.

Look 1 – It’s going to be a long long day at work so I’m going to be comfortable dress

Thoughts –

This dress has a modest neckline and length which makes it workplace appropriate. Also, the grey sleeveless trench paired together makes it look quite professional (and even provides  added comfort when you’re freezing at your desk because of the full blast air-conditioner). I’m not too fond of jewelry so these Teal pumps work for a pop of colour to a very neutral outfit!

Look 2 – I may have a couple of Sangrias with my girls at brunch dress

Thoughts –

Isn’t this obi belt stunning? It totally perked up the dress. Furthermore, you can loosen it up and still not look messy when you’re slightly going overboard with those cocktails at brunch! A pair of heels do take any clothing to the next level but keep thing casual here with my brown pointed toe flats.

Look 3 – Out for some shopping and running errands in my no fuss kinda dress

Thoughts –

Yes, this is styled with just a pair of white trainers ( genius eh). But one can’t be bothered when it’s hot and you’ve to go shopping or run errands  yet want to look cute. So white trainers for the win here.

Feelin’ Green

Hey you guys! I can’t believe how ironic it was to do this photoshoot on Earth Day! Ok, I’m no eco-activist and learnt about it much later on social media. But, can we talk about this stunning colour? This forest green shade needs to be the new black as it is so flattering, I bet it will suit every complexion! I hope the fashion retailer gods answer my prayers !!

So the last 2 weeks, I was feeling super bleh and bloated (thanks to aunt flo) and the frustration is real when you can’t find anything fancy and loose. As a pear shape woman, it’s a real struggle to wear something oversized and not look like a tent.

So coming to this dress, I went a size up than my regular size to keep things flowy and breathable. I was under the assumption that mid-calf length dresses will cut short my somewhat “average” height but since this dress had a bardot neckline, it did balance out my exposed areas and I don’t think I look any shorter.

To keep things non fussy, I styled it with a (loose) elastic black waist belt to give this dress a little structure and also to avoid looking plain and boring. I was on my first day, so a painkiller and this dress kept me super comfortable as I was planning a night out the same day. I even added a choker which somehow took this dress from classy to gypsy…Don’t you think so? I think the choker gives a boho vibe to this outfit.

I hope you enjoyed this post and will keep coming back for more!

PS – How do you like my eye make up? 😉
